What Is The USCCA?

USCAA is an insurance company that provides insurance for those who hurt people in the act of self-defense. At first, you will think you won’t need this. The truth is you will get into a confrontation with a criminal and this person would want to steal something from you. There is a strong chance you would want to fight back especially since the person wanted to steal something from you. If you have a weapon, that is good news. If you don’t, then you can still use your fists.

This is where the insurance comes in because you will most likely need to prove that it was in the act of self-defense so you will be cleared of all the charges. Unfortunately, you will need to spend on a lot of things for that to happen. That is when you will realize that you should be glad that this type of insurance exists.

How Much Does it Cost?

That’s the catch. You would think that this kind of insurance with these benefits would cost a fortune… but it doesn’t. They are having a special that allows you to sign up for just $22.

They have three different packages to choose from:

  • Elite
  • Platinum
  • and Gold

All of them look good and the most expensive one is Elite at $47 per month. If you have a lot of enemies or you pass by lots of dark places on the way home from work, that would be a nice idea. Platinum is priced at $30 per month which is not bad. Last but not the least, Gold is priced at $22 per month.

When you go to public places so there is little to no chance that you will interact with threats. But these days I’m not so sure. I’ve never been more serious about my protection than right now. There is also the option of paying it annually or a one-time payment, which of course gives you an even bigger discount. That is one thing you must discuss with your insurance agent before any deal goes through.

What Does It Entail?

Whenever you are thinking of getting insurance, it is always important to read the fine print for each option. You would want to know what you are paying for. All three options have different prices for all the things that are included. The attorney retainer is the first thing that is included and it is pretty important. You would not want to talk to the cops who arrested you. You should ask them to talk to your attorney.

The better than the package you select, the better chance you have of landing an attorney who knows what he is doing. Of course, you would need to pay the attorney upfront, or else they would not accept the case. All attorneys have an acceptance fee. The longer they have been taking cases, the higher the amount is. All three also include compensation while in court. This would be like your allowance while you would need to go to court. It would most likely cover your food and transportation expenses.

At first, you will think that you won’t need it. After that, you will get surprised when you find out how far the court is from your place. Parking is expected to be difficult too and the food there is quite expensive. Of course, you would need to buy food for your lawyer too so you can talk about your case. There is also psychological support in the event that the judge recommends you see a psychologist when it is over.

There is a huge chance that will actually happen and it is for your own good. Thus, better not argue with the judge when he decides for you to go see a psychologist. He just wants to prevent future outrage. Another thing present in all three of them is the up-front bail bond. This is perhaps the most important especially if you don’t want to spend a single day locked up in prison. If you do, that is going to haunt you for the rest of your lives.

It would be awesome if you can get bailed out as soon as possible. The higher the amount of up-front bail is, the faster you are going to get released since it depends on the circumstances by which you were arrested.

Advantage Over Competitors

NRA Carry Guard is the closest competitor of USCAA Self Defense Shield and they have already shut down. We are still doing the comparison though and we can understand why NRA went out of business. The first reason is that USCAA is cheaper when you compare their yearly rates.

Another thing separating the two is that the NRA only covers firearms while USCAA covers all types of self-defense methods. Yes, there is a possibility you could have struck the person with a rock or even just punched him straight to his face. You had no other option anyway since those were the two nearest things to you. The important part is you were able to protect yourself before any possible damage was done to you. You were able to send a message to that person that you are not the type of person they can mess with.

Another huge advantage of USCAA over NRA is the spousal coverage. At first, the NRA did not have spousal coverage. They decided to add it so they had the advantage for a brief period of time. After that, USCAA saw their mistake so they added spousal coverage but only inside the house which is a good call since wives usually just stay at home.

Now, USCAA has a major advantage because you can have your spouse getting covered for the same as you for as low as an additional of $77 per year. Yes, that is getting two people covered by this insurance for just a small amount if you do the math.

Another huge advantage of USCAA has over NRA is the connections to excellent firearm attorneys in all 50 states compared to none for NRA. Thus, you could get nervous which lawyer NRA will assign you. On the other hand, you know USCAA has different options available and you will love each and every one of them. In fact, looking at the track record of each one will make you look forward to proving your innocence.

Both insurance companies provide training. It is no surprise how both of them thought up of it way ahead of time. You can bet it is one of the first few things they already had in mind before offering the insurance coverage to anybody.

Perhaps, the biggest advantage USCAA has over NRA is the full 150k criminal defense payout method. NRA is only doing 20% of it which is definitely questionable when you come to think of it. No attorney would want to get in a deal like that. Thus, the process may take longer than expected. That won’t happen with USCAA as you will get a good attorney who is willing to take the case immediately.

When the time comes that you need an attorney, NRA says you will need to pay the additional amount on top of the 20% of $150,000. That is strange which basically defeats the purpose of getting insurance.

In conclusion, USCAA’s Self Defense Shield is worth the money. In fact, I know of some people who got into unexpected fights with numerous people they don’t even know. It will definitely happen during times when you least expect it. The next thing to do would be to talk to one of their agents so that the best possible scenario could be mapped out for you. In case you have any questions about the coverage, you can ask that person. It will only be a matter of time before you will end up deciding between Gold, Platinum, and Silver.

It is great how you are thinking about what the future may bring for you. When there is danger in front of your family, you know you can’t think about anything else other than protecting them.

There is a reason why so many people take up self-defense techniques such as Muay Thai, karate, and boxing. You never know when you will need to use these self-defense techniques. When you do, you would want to make sure you are good at it. Who knows? When you become an expert in those things, you may even make it a career. When that happens, you should not forget all the things you learned though.

With USCAA’s Self-Defense Shield, you won’t have to worry too much about all the expenses with regards to a self-defense case. No matter how minor you think it is, you will still go to court. The number of court cases would depend on what happens. By that time, you don’t know the status of your life. You may be rich or you may have just lost your job. Thus, you won’t regret getting this insurance as you can worry about the expenses part and worry about what you are going to say when it is your turn to stand on trial. Don’t forget to tell your capable attorney everything that happened to you.
